Find In Frames Page - Form
This is probably this best way to use the "find" function. Type in the word that you want to find in this frame. This script will only work in Netscape 4.
Insert into <HEAD>
<script> <!-- Hide from old browsers function search(){ if((navigator.appVersion.indexOf("4.") != -1) && (navigator.appName.indexOf("Netscape") != -1)){ parent.YOUR FRAME NAME.find(document.form.findthis.value); } } // --> </script>
Insert into <BODY>
<form name="form" onSubmit="search(); return false;"><input type="text" name="findthis" size="15"> <input type="submit" value="Find / Find Next" ></form>
Other Options
Put this part of the code in your <head></head> tag. This will be the frame that has the form, like the one that is at the top. You need to change YOUR FRAME NAME. <script> <!-- Hide from old browsers function search(){ if((navigator.appVersion.indexOf("4.") != -1) && (navigator.appName.indexOf("Netscape") != -1)){ parent.YOUR FRAME NAME.find(document.form.findthis.value); } } // --> </script> Now throw this form where ever you want the search to go. This too will be the frame that has the form, like the one that is at the top. <form name="form" onSubmit="search(); return false;"><input type="text" name="findthis" size="15"> <input type="submit" value="Find / Find Next" ></form>
